ABOUT US

Our club started back in 2012 with its birth from the old Midland Hills Rugby Club which was around for about 22 years.  We started with just a handful of teams from under 6’s through to under 12’s and our senior teams.

We have had a steady growth rate over these past 5 years and without the generous support of our local business sponsors like yourself, growing our club would just not be possible.  Along with our many volunteers we rely on kind support from our local businesses to help encourage, inspire and motivate our players across the board to strive to be their absolute possible best.

Swan Suburbs Rugby Union Football Club (“SSRUFC”) has been proudly representing the Midland/Swan Valley District community since 2012, not just in our sporting successes but also through our work in the local community.

OUR CLUB’S PROFILE
SSRUFC is the community’s premier senior rugby club comprised of 1 Senior Men’s teams and many age group teams.
• We have approximately 40 active senior players and compete in the WA Suburban Rugby Competition across all grades.
• Our teams regularly compete in the Finals with our most recent success in 2019 where our Senior Men’s team were crowned Grand Final Winners in the Community Division 2 competition.

OUR CLUB’S MISSION
• To provide the local community with a successful Rugby Union Club and to grow the sport from the grassroots level by giving children the opportunity to play rugby for free.

OUR CLUB’S VALUES
• Respect – To always play with honour and respect the laws of the game, the referees and our opponents.
• Teamwork – To foster a community environment within the Club that includes all players and supporters.
• Discipline – To always comply with our Players Code of Conduct and uphold our strict standards whenever we represent our Club on and off the field.
• Fun – To provide a fun and positive environment that welcomes all members of the local community.

OUR CLUB’S ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY
SSRUFC supports and encourages the family spirit in all we do.  Many of our Senior Mens players have their offspring playing in the junior grades.
• Often we are known to have a pitch-in approach where all members pitch in to coach, train, run community bbq events and generally helpout across all levels.
• We have an annual Ladies Day where funds are raised for the McGrath Foundation;
SSRUFC are looking to improve on our current activities in the near future.
